Controlling high blood pressure (Hypertension) is critically important for maintaining overall health and preventing serous medical conditions.  Here’s why:

  1. Reduces Risk of Heart Disease
  2. Prevents Stroke
  3. Protects Kidney Function
  4. Prevents Vision Loss
  5. Improves Quality of Life
  6. Reduces Risk of Dementia
Here at UPC we are striving to reduce the risks for our patients.  We are always looking to increase our care of patients between 18-85 years of age who have a diagnosis of high blood pressure (hypertension) with a most recent blood pressure adequately controlled less than 140/90.  For 2025 UPC goal is 85% of our patient with high blood pressure (hypertension) in control, currently as of April 1st we are at 79%.
Breast Cancer Screening is critically important because it helps detect cancer at an early stage, often before symptoms appear.  Here are some key reasons why breast cancer screening matters:
1. Early detection saves lives
a. Higher survival rates: When breast cancer is detected early, the 5-year survival rate can be over 90%.
b. Less aggressive treatment: Early-stage cancers often require less intensive treatment, reducing the physical and emotional toll.
2. Improved treatment outcomes
a. Early detection allows for more treatment options, including breast-conserving surgery instead of mastectomy, and possibly avoiding chemotherapy.
3. Peace of Mind
a. For many, regular screening provides reassurance. If a problem is found, it can be addressed quickly.
Common screening methods:
Here at UPC we are striving to reduce the risks of breast cancer.  For 2025 UPC goal is 75% of our woman within the age range of 50 to 74 years of age, currently as of April 1st we are at 75%.
